Welcoming Communities Initiative (WCI), a three-year community engagement project of the Council of Agencies Serving South Asians (CASSA), funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada. WCI is informed by the Smart Settlement Model, which proposes a policy framework and a model for smaller communities that is sustainable settlement focused. In the model, immigrants are viewed as partners in community building and leadership, social and human capital (key building blocks) are encouraged.
